Interviewed at the polls!

November 4th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in From the Field, Volunteers Opportunities

PA League of Young Voters own Dylan Lampe was interviewed by WTAE while he waited in line to vote on Chatham’s campus.

Meanwhile, volunteer Francine Porter was out interviewing voters about their voting experience and thoughts on the election.

Videos like these are being uploaded by the League as well as many other groups and individuals all across the county as part of the Video Your Vote project.

It’s an E-Day GOTV Swarm

Our office was completely packed for E-Day orientation this week, as dozens of eager volunteers came in to get trained and scheduled to get out the vote on Tuesday.

They ranged in age from 17 years old to over 50. We gave them all a t-shirt and the list of canvasser rules and rights, and got them scheduled for either a whole-day or half-day shift.

IF YOU MISSED THE ORIENTATION… Saturday, Nov. 1st at 1pm in our office you can still get trained and scheduled to push those voters out the door! Call 412-362-7927 with questions.

Election Day, May 17th, 2007

Poll watcher training - we stay fly ’til we die…

The keys to the kingdom:

The League hits the streets to defend democracy:

Headquarters, hard at work:

There might have been a lot of intimidation, but at least we got fresh air:

Transparency: the progressive candidates are out and about, smiling for the cameras, while the bullies only act when they think nobody’s looking.

.

Waiting and watching are the worst.  The anticipation even affected the camera, making us all blurry with worry.

Elections are for lovers.

Nothing says, “I’ve been up since 4:30″ like this picture.

After all the drama, it was time to let loose:

Nish, quick witted as always: “By the end of the night, everyone will be comatoast.”
