Volunteer Orientation — Monday Sept. 8th

Get yourself orientated to be able to get out that vote for this election!
Sure, you probably think that people would have to be crazy to not vote in an election that’s received as much attention as this one has, but you would also be surprised. People need to be encouraged, to know that others think it is important, to overcome apathy, and to vote down the whole ballot, dagnabit.

There are tens of thousands of inactive voters in our area.

So, to be able to motivate and mobilize those voters for the future of PA,
come to our volunteer orientation!

Some things that will be covered:
- history of the League
- the Fall strategy for election turnout
- the keys to successful voter mobilization
- volunteer opportunities before and on election day

That’s MONDAY, SEP 8th, and 7PM, at our office (6101 Penn Avenue Suite 302).

Interns make our world go round

We wouldn’t be able to do it all without the young, bright minds of our college interns each semester.

No coffee-fetching here: Our interns get right into the mix with research, community outreach, and learning the behind-the-scenes that makes it all happen.

We accept applications year-round, and our interns go on to work for government agencies, political campaigns, non-profits, and even become consultants.

This is how we do it…!

Enough about Rhyme Cal…how bout the afterparty (in front of the Rhyme Cal
room)?! DJ Huggy was spinning some of the classic hip hop hits… You
should’ve seen the look on the cleaning guy’s face! Hey…they had to know
what would happen if they put piles of shredded paper, free alcohol, and
music in the same spot!

…ever seen Mac dance?! Looked like he was having fun to me! Again…this
is how WE do it!! We are all about having a good time as long as we are
getting the work done! (And there is PLENTY to do!) Ya gotta love this
work…

We’re here at Hot House!

The League is present and having a great time at Hot House! This is my first mobile post to the Hotsheet so I hope this works. Here is Mac with Friends of the Riverfront. More to come from Hot House!
